Old town is dominated by the Catedral de Santa María de la Sede de Sevilla, and rightly so…it’s the third biggest church in the world! It was constructed in waves, and the architecture reflects five or six different styles. Oooh!
On the inside, each of the cathedral’s eighty chapels has its own unique design. Though, the one thing that seems to be consistent among Spanish cathedrals is their incredible decoration. And the Catedral de Santa María de la Sede de Sevilla in particular is known for its ornamentation. “Let a church so beautiful and so great that those who see it built will think we were mad” was the actual plan, during the time of its construction. You really have to go see it for yourself…amazing!
