On a sunny Friday morning, I had the chance to go to Angers, former capital of Anjou (which isn’t really a region anymore, anyways). It was lovely.
In the center of town is the Château du roi René, acclaimed for its Tapisserie de l’Apocalypse which depicts the story of John the Apostle (uhm, right). I’ve never read the text, but I can only imagine that its quite wordy, as the tapestry (now in six pieces) measures 103 meters long en somme.
From its towers, roi René offered some really wonderful views of Angers and la Maine.
